PROFIT DRIVEN GENETICS
welcome to nemaha valley cattle company
Located outside of Bern, Kansas, in the heart of the Nemaha River valley. We are proud, first-generation Angus breeders. We started our family owned and operated business from humble beginnings in 1993. For the last 30 years we’ve stayed committed to our core principles of focusing on customer relationships, cow family strength, and balanced trait genetics that help commercial cattleman be profitable. When you succeed, so do we. We invite you to contact or visit us anytime throughout the year.
We use industry leading sires to produce offspring that can yield high-quality beef, while excelling in all segments of the industry.
The ladies who started it all for us have a solid foundation of strong maternal and carcass genetics, plus great attitudes. We have built a balanced breeding program using proven genetics.
We sell yearling and 18-month-old registered Angus bulls by private treaty. Our offerings are backed by more than 30 years of predictable, proven Angus genetics. We include DNA-enhanced EPDs on every bull we market.
profit focused
The ultimate goal of Nemaha Valley Cattle Company is to make our customers more successful and more sustainable by being more profitable. Many of our customers are seeing great success with their calf crops. But don’t just take our word for it.
"Between my father & I, we have bought bulls from NVCC for over 10 years. We are and continue to be thoroughly impressed with the disposition, calving ease and weaning weights of the offspring from his sires. Neal is knowledgeable, a seasoned professional and committed to being top notch."
Kyle Rempe, Onaga, Kansas
"I’ve been buying Angus bulls from Neal Haverkamp for twenty years or so. Neal’s knowledge, honesty and integrity impressed me from day one. My experience with the genetics of the Angus bulls I have purchased here is that they are both predictable and consistent. The old adage that your bulls are half your cow herd is true. Buying bulls from Nemaha Valley Cattle takes the guesswork out of improving your cow herd’s genetics."
Harland Schuster, Morrill, Kansas
"I've been buying bulls from Neal for close to 20 years. He's honest and candid answering questions about the bulls. They're fairly priced, hold up well in our operation, and sire good quality calves that sell well at the local salebarn as feeders."
